Australia leads test series with 1-0 

Australia cantered to an easy 88-run win over Pakistan in Lahore after a dominant performance from Travis Head and Adam Zampa. Head laid the foundation and put Pakistan under a lot of pressure in the opening 25 overs of the game and set the tone for his side. He smashed 101 off 72 which helped Australia post 313 before his two wickets and a four-wicket haul from Zampa kept the hosts to 225.

Set a challenging total, Fakhar Zaman's early wicket meant Pakistan lost their enforcer. Imam ul Haq, who smashed an equally impressive 103 off 96, and Babar Azam started building the platform for a late onslaught but the move backfired as Australia roared back with quick strikes to seal the contest. Babar and Imam made 96 off 118 but that pushed the scoring rate up and the hosts on the backfoot.

Pakistan looked steady at 52 for 1 at the end of the powerplay before Babar became the second fastest to 4000 ODI runs after Hashim Amla. At the 20-over mark, Pakistan had just crossed 100 and looked set to up the ante. Debutant Mitchell Swepson ensured Babar was not only his maiden Test wicket but also became his maiden ODI wicket in the 25th over. The wicket also meant they wobbled to 166 for 5 from 120 for 1 between overs 25 and 34.
